season 2012 - 2013

Though the right-wing government has fallen, the drastic and shocking measures spoken about in the last update will take place anyway. Especially the performing arts are affected and the concrete measures will be published right in the middle of summer holiday. Already it is clear that huge cuts will damage more than half of especially the smaller and artistically ambitious companies and production centres. These are exactly the places where new generations embark on their careers and if they have to close down Holland will loose its unique theatrical dynamism.

In August, Javier will be installed as member of the international pedagogic committee for the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre du Bénin. He will get acquainted with the new group of students and further curricular activities have been scheduled. Thanks to a subsidy from EC sources the school can accept a new generation of students that will receive an internationally valid diploma at the end of the three years course.

For the start of the 2012-13 season Javier will stage two new one act opera's by young composers Thierry Tidrow and Giorgi Stoyanov. They will be performed together with Strawinsky's one act Mavra, directed by Vladimir Bouchler and the same composer's ballet music Pucinella, choreographed by Itamar Serussi.

In march-april the project with students of stage-direction at Amsterdam Theaterschool, collaborating with students of MM composition of the Amsterdam Conservatoire and MA-students Theatre Studies of the Amsterdam University will take place.

Further on during the year (if funding can be found) a production of a new stage play by Dutch playwright Enne Koens has been scheduled, starring the popular actors Chris Comvalius and Bartho Braat, for whom the play has been conceived.
